Premier A/C & Heating Co. has specialized in Residential New Construction since their inception in 1990, designing, installing, servicing and repairing HVAC systems throughout the Houston metro area.

We have formed strong relationships with builders and home owners in the Houston area over the last 20 years, so that when our customers have a question or issue, they feel comfortable calling Premier A/C & Heating. Many of our Residential Service customers are retained from our Residential New Construction projects.

It is a priority that Premier A/C satisfies the builder and home owner during the New Construction Installation, as well as continuing to educate and service the home owner after they have moved into their new home.

Warranty
Premier A/C offers a warranty for one (1) year on labor in a New Construction home in which we installed the original equipment, and we always welcome inquiries and phone calls from any home owner. The manufacture’s warranty varies from brand to brand, but most have a five year warranty on compressors and parts.

S.E.E.R
S.E.E.R. stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, and is the energy efficiency rating system for Air Conditioning Systems. The S.E.E.R. rating matches and rates all pieces of equipment that make up an A/C system – Furnace/Air Handler, Coil & Condenser. The AHRI (Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute) is the industry accepted organization that assigns S.E.E.R. ratings for HVAC systems.

Design

Energy Programs
The City of Houston has increased efficiency standards for New Construction Homes, please contact the City of Houston for details. Premier A/C has a vast amount of experience installing HVAC equipment in homes certified for all types of Energy Programs, including but not limited to: Energy Star, EFL (Environments for Living) and LEED.

ENERGY STAR
ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. Energy Star certifies New Construction homes and is constantly upgrading minimum requirements.

Premier A/C & Heating is certified through ACCA (Air Conditioning Contractors of America) and Energy Star to install HVAC equipment in homes for Energy Star Version 3.0. To learn more about Energy Star v2.5 & v3.0, click here.

LEED
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The basic premise is to build using as much recycled, local and earth-friendly materials as possible, along with designing the home to utilize the least amount of energy, from New Construction to living comfortably 10 years down the road. In Houston, the Air Conditioning system plays a very large role in an “efficient” home.

Premier A/C has completed many LEED Certified homes, including Houston’s 1st LEED Spec Homes to reach LEED Silver, as well as a beautiful project inside the 610 Loop that will be featured in Green Building & Design Magazine.

Premier A/C employs an in-house LEED Accredited Professional (Jerry Krieg ) that is knowledgeable in all aspects of energy efficient programs and the options for the HVAC industry. Please feel free to contact Jerry with your questions regarding energy efficiency.

Manual J Load Calculation
A Manual J Load Calculation is a tool used in the HVAC industry that allows the input of building parameters, including but not limited to: roof, siding and floor types, insulation values (R-values), Glass values (U-Factor & Solar Heat Gain Coefficient Factor), infiltration values and other important variables that make up the construction of the residence.

With all factors entered, the Load Calculation produces reports of the heat loads on each room (or block). A Manual S is generated from the Manual J Load Calculation, which sizes the equipment for the home (in tonnage). The cost for a Manual J Load Calculation & Manual S is $.20 per square foot (minimum $350). The only time we would charge for a Manual J is if we do not get the contract for completing the install job.

Duct Layout
A Duct Layout is required by a number of cities in and around Houston. Some cities require a Duct Layout prior to issuing a building permit. The charge for a Duct Layout is $.20 per square foot (minimum $350). This price is included in the proposal, if we perform the New Construction install. The only time we would charge for a Duct Layout is if we do not get the contract for completing the job.

ATTENTION HOME OWNERS:
Many manufactures in the HVAC Industry are now offering a Limited Manufacture Warranty when the Home Owner's register their newly installed equipment. Equipment must be registered within 30 to 60 days (depending on the manufacture) from closing on a New Construction Home or equipment installation.
